Real Madrid vs Sevilla, who are now six points ahead atop the La Liga standings, welcome Sevilla to the stadium on Saturday night.

When Real Madrid hosts Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night, they will be attempting to make it four victories in a row in La Liga and increase their advantage at the top of the standings.

The current Spanish and European champions Los Merengues seem to be an invincible force as they continue their rampage.

After winning the El Clasico last weekend, they destroyed Elche 3-0 away from home the following week. They have a perfect record in the league and will take Sevilla, a team suffering in the lower part of the standings, seriously.

Sevilla, meantime, has had a dismal start to the season and is presently occupying the 13th spot in the La Liga standings. The opposition is a pale imitation of the group that made a championship run last year.

With three draws and a victory, they haven’t lost in four games under new coach Jorge Sampaoli, but they haven’t done much else either. All of those draws, including the most recent one this week against Valencia, ended in a score of 1-1.

It is reasonable to assume that the Andalusian team will have to perform heroically in order to benefit in any way from this match.
