Cricket World Cup | Today, USA Cricket is happy to announce that registration is now open for the Under 19 Men’s Zonal tryouts. Which will take place in December 2022. Players must be current USA Cricket members who were born on or after September 1, 2004. And before August 31, 2007, in order to be eligible to compete in the trials.
These trials are the first stop on the road to the USA Cricket Men’s Under-19 National Championships in 2019 and the crucial ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier. Which will determine who will represent the Americas in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2024.
All six of the USA Cricket Zones’ Zonal Training Groups of 20–26 players. Will be chosen from these trials by Zonal Selectors who have been nominated by USA Cricket. Players will have the chance to work with one another in regionalized hubs and improve every element of their game. With the help of USA Cricket support personnel and infrastructure through the Zonal Training Groups.
These are only the initial Training Groups. And as the national system continues to develop and support the increased monitoring of performances across local leagues. And other domestic cricket during what is hoped to be a full calendar of cricket in 2023. There will be the opportunity for additional players to progress into the groups, where justified.
In order to minimise travel, the trials will be held throughout the first three weekends of December in each of the six Zones. Taking into account the locations of the majority of enrolled participants.
